Which TV streaming service has TCM?

There are various streaming services that will allow you to stream TCM content, including HBO Max, Hulu, and Sling TV.

Streaming services have not yet destroyed cable and television providers, but they are becoming increasingly popular and as a result, networks are moving their content to streaming platforms.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has also made the move to streaming and the network’s classic and art film content is available to stream on many platforms including HBO Max, Hulu, and Sling TV.

Are streaming services really the new cable?

You may have heard that more and more people are cancelling their cable and satellite subscriptions and signing up to streaming services instead, but many people are still unsure whether these over-the-top services will ever replace traditional television entirely.

Streaming services may not have booted cable and satellite providers out of the market completely just yet, but in July of 2022, streaming services (34.8 percent) officially became more popular than cable (34.4 percent) and broadcast (21.6 percent) television in the United States.

As such, an increasing number of classic television networks, such as TCM, are making the move to streaming.

Which TV streaming service has TCM?

TCM is one of these classic networks that completely modernised their brand in 2021 in order to adjust to the constantly changing times.

While TCM has been the hub for classic Golden Age Hollywood films and international art films on paid television for over thirty years, the network is determined not to get stuck in the past.

TCM is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery and with the many uncertainties still looming over the company after their merger in 2020, the network will have to prove that it is still as relevant as it has always been.

TCM’s General Manager, Pola Changnon, remains optimistic about TCM’s future under Warner Bros. Discovery amidst these uncertainties and because TCM is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, the network does have its own hub on the company’s streaming service, HBO Max, which should help to modernise it further.

However, if you are looking for a different way to stream your favourite oldies, there are many options.

Hulu is one of the most popular subscription-based streaming services in the United States and the Hulu + Live TV plan will give you access to all of the TCM content.

Hulu is certainly a great option if you want to watch TCM and access a huge library of other content, but this streaming service is on the higher end of the price scale.

The Sling Orange, Sling Blue, and Sling Orange & Blue plans are much more affordable and also come with a wide variety of other channels.

The uncertainties of the Warner Bros. Discovery merger

The Warner Bros. Discovery merger has created somewhat widespread panic because the new company keeps cancelling popular shows like Westworld and upcoming films like Batgirl.

Not to mention the fact that the company has removed several of its shows from HBO Max, despite having announced the company’s renewed focus on streaming services earlier in the merger.

Despite these changes, the TCM hub is still available on HBO Max for the price of a monthly subscription fee of $9.99 per month for the ad-supported version, or $15.99 for the ad-free version.

Streaming TCM on Hulu

Hulu had a total of 47.2 million paying subscribers at the end of 2022, but the number of individual viewers is well over 100 million.

The reason why Hulu managed to keep about 11 percent of the market share for streaming services in 2022 is because of the platform’s extensive library of content.

However, many subscribers are drawn to Hulu, to begin with, because of the platform’s bundle options.

One of these bundle plans, the Hulu + Live TV plan, costs $69.99 per month and allows you to watch TCM and 66 other channels, including CNN International, MSNBC, and CNBC.

Streaming TCM on Sling TV

Sling TV may not be the first platform that people think of when they want to stream content, but the platform is rapidly growing in popularity and had over 2.4 million subscribers in the third quarter of 2022. It is also a great option if you want to watch TCM.

In order to access TCM content on your Sling TV account, you need to subscribe to the Sling Orange plan (which is more sports-focused and also has ESPN) or Sling Blue plan (which has 41 channels).

Both of these plans are $40 per month. Or you need to go all in on the highest tier and subscribe to the Sling Orange & Blue plan, which will cost $55 per month.
